Knowing that Dredmor won't be getting any further updates or a sequel takes away the long-term motivation to keep at it. The game is turn-based, and both the player and numerous enemies take turns performing actions. I'm not terribly interested in new skills, but there seem to be mods that enhance certain elements of gameplay (e.g., make Fungal Arts less pointy-clicky). I felt I had to move on from the game after learning about the collapse of Gaslamp Games last summer in the wake of the Clockwork Empires disaster. I haven't delved into Dredmor mods because I'm trying to achieve Vanilla Victory (90 hours in and this just isn't working out for me). That is not really what it was, it was more an official expansion pack made by several modders, the only additions that really were taken straight from mods were some. It is my sixth-most played game on Steam, right behind Skyrim. 'You Have to Name the Expansion Pack' compiles several of the best community mods into an official expansion. Over the years I accumulated 170hrs played and 34% of achievements.
